Local representation and a single point of contact
You gain a permanent presence in China without opening an office or posting staff abroad. A single contact carries your files to the factories, in their language and on their time zone, and reports back in yours.
- 1
- single point of contact, from first exchange to delivery
- On site
- your files carried in person to the manufacturers
- No entity
- nothing to incorporate, no one to post abroad
- 01
Your files carried on site
Consultations, negotiations, production follow-up and disputes handled by someone the factory can meet. A claim brought in person gets somewhere; a claim made remotely gets lost.
- 02
In the local language and codes
Exchanges take place in Chinese, with no intermediary and no approximate translation. What goes unsaid can be read, and what was agreed is understood the same way on both sides.
- 03
Reported back to you
Written accounts, photographs, comparisons. Nothing is settled verbally in Chinese without you keeping the record of it.
What a permanent presence changes
A supplier does not treat a buyer it will never meet the same way it treats a partner based a few hours away who might turn up at the workshop. That difference appears in no contract, but it shows in lead times kept and in the way a problem is handled.
It shows most in the difficult moments: a non-conformity, a delay, a dispute. A claim brought in person gets somewhere; a claim made remotely gets lost.
A single contact, not a switchboard
You do not explain your file twice. The same person knows your product, your history with the factory, your quality requirements and your schedule constraints — from the first exchange to delivery.
That is what makes it possible to move fast when a decision has to be taken the same day, without starting the context over. And it is what neither a platform nor a different provider at every stage can give you.
Without the cost of setting up
Opening an entity in China means registration, premises, local staff, accounting and continuous administration. It is justified above a certain volume; below it, the investment far exceeds the benefit.
Representation through a local partner gives you the presence without the structure: you draw on a team already established and already known to the factories, and step away when your activity changes.
What you keep from every exchange
Discussions take place in Chinese, within local practice — that is what makes them effective. But nothing is settled verbally without you keeping the record: written accounts, photographs, comparisons, commitments logged.
You steer from your own desk with the same material as if you were standing in the workshop, and you can hold the supplier to it on the day it matters.

Two ways of being present in China
| Remotely | Local representation | |
|---|---|---|
| Factory visits | Not possible day to day | Whenever the file requires it |
| Language of exchange | English on both sides | Chinese, no intermediary |
| Responsiveness | One cycle per working day | Same day, on the ground |
| Set-up cost | None, but limited effect | No entity to create |
Frequently asked questions
- How does this differ from a plain sourcing agent?
- An agent works on an assignment: find a supplier, check an order. Representation covers duration — it assumes someone knows your file over time, maintains the relationship with your factories between orders and alerts you to what changes on their side.
- Do you work exclusively within a sector?
- That is open to discussion depending on your activity and your market. Raise it before committing to a sensitive project: better to settle the point at the start than to discover it along the way.
- Can we start small?
- It is the recommended path. Each service can be commissioned on its own — an inspection, a supplier search, a factory visit. Representation over time makes sense once the working relationship is established and the volume justifies it.
